Daniel Sala

Head instructor and owner of Real Thing Jiu Jitsu. He began training in 2007 at Renzo Gracie PA. He joined the US Navy in 2009 and served for six years as a Navy Diver. During this time he trained while stationed in Guam and San Diego, across the United States, and Australia. He returned home in 2016 and began training under Rob Scheier at Precision Jiu Jitsu in King of Prussia and has been there since. He won the “2020 Brown Belt Submission of the Year” for the Fight2Win promotion with the cowboy choke. He was promoted to black belt on June 4th, 2022.

Daniel coaches all Gi Jiu Jitsu classes throughout the week and Nogi Thursday evening.

Ian Anderson

Muay Thai/kickboxing coach, and active competitor. He started at the age of 19 under Kru Eric Karner, learning Sityodtong style Muay Thai, and currently trains under Aaron Meisner. He has competed in both Muay Thai and K1 style kickboxing over the last decade. He has also cornered fighters in Muay Thai, kickboxing, and MMA. Ian has a background as a strength and conditioning coach, which is something he integrates into his martial arts coaching.

Ian coaches striking with a creative attitude, and an eye towards practicality, while still meeting his students where they are at in their respective journeys. Students are treated equally in terms of his attention to detail, whether you are someone taking your first class, or a professional athlete getting ready to compete. Martial arts are Ian’s passion, and it shows through his instruction.

Ian is a blue belt in BJJ under Tim Carpenter, and has competed in numerous grappling competitions.

Ian coaches Muay Thai Tuesday at 730pm and Thursday at 7pm

Chrissy Briggs

Chrissy is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, promoted by Rob Scheier in October 2024. She has been training since January 2015 and bring over 10 years of experience on the mats.

Chrissy has competed extensively and appeared on high-level pro cards such as Fury Grappling, Medusa (Combat Jiu-Jitsu), Fight 2 Win, Finishers Sub Only(former 135 champion), High Rollerz, Emerald City Invitational, and Subversive(Combat Jiu-Jitsu). In 2021, she placed 3rd at IBJJF Nogi Worlds.  

In addition to competing, she has years of experience teaching Jiu-Jitsu, helping students of all ages and skill levels grow in both gi and no-gi. Whether you are stepping onto the mat for the first time or preparing for competition, she is here to help you build skill, confidence, and grit. 

Chrissy teaches Nogi Jiu Jitsu Tuesday at 6pm.

Antonio Javier-Bompartito

Antonio is a purple belt under Rob Scheier and Precision Jiu Jitsu. He is continually adding to an already strong competitive résumé which includes appearances at Finishers, Fight 2 Win, Arena Grappling, and the Balance & Flow Invitational. He’s an ADCC Open silver medalist and a double gold medalist at the MSC Championship in Portugal. Most recently, he has won the Talk Bout Welterweight Title.

Antonio is a technical instructor and coaches the morning classes Monday and Wednesday at 6am.

Megan Downing

Meg is the assistant kids coach. She earned her blue belt while at Real Thing. Meg has competed at Grappling Industries and is constantly expanding her knowledge of jiu jitsu and abilities as a coach. She has a background in competitive gymnastics and is excellent at helping the kids with their tumbling and body awareness.

Meg is coaching the kids Monday and Wednesdays at 530pm.
